Yes, Dopers one and all, welcome my sister to the Boards! I prevailed upon her during her recent three-week visit, telling her that she would make a perfect DoperChick (take that however you will) and that this is such a fun bunch of people, she would love it and fit right in. I think all my excitement about the RenFaireDopeFest (which she missed, but would have loved) finally pushed her over the edge. Um… Thank you all… You are all too kind. I feel so welcome. _snif_ I am truly touched. Probably in the head, but that’s for another time. Now can someone tell me what happened? Yesterday afternoon I sent a lovely, polite, effusive reply, thanking you all, expressing my pleasure at meeting you and even including my dream, at Dave’s request. I spent the evening wandering around the board, oo-ing and ah-ing like a tourist, lurking at one thread and another, throwing my two pfennigs in where it pleased me. This morning I return to this thread and find the post I sent is not here! I now appear to have grossly ignored all your warm welcomes and kind words, whilst amusing myself elsewhere about the place. Oh, the horror! The shame! The embarrassment! (All die.) So …can anyone tell me what happened to my post? Is it retrievable or did it fall in a black hole? Was eaten by rabid hamsters? Was confiscated by the authorities and will shortly be used against me? Thanks for any help and explanations. And yes, Dave _was_ the quiet one, but only because he couldn’t get a word in edgewise. There were three of us ahead of him and then Ed came along and he is not kidding you about Ed. ---
