What is really sad is that this woman isn’t that ugly - she has a very good body, clear skin - with appropriate make-up, toned-down slightly more natural hair, she could be extremely elegant and very attractive.
Instead she looks like a cheap ho.
Why is she wearing lurid clown-like make-up? I’ve seen other glamour models, page 3 girl-types, even the odd porn actress, and most of them _don’t_ wear their make-up like this. Pamela Anderson used to have hers pretty slutty, but not such lurid, clashing, unnatural colours.
Seems like Dr Va-Va-Vaughn could do with a medical colour-blindness exam.

Ok, I’m sold. What I want to know is how she got her bustline to go from 33" to 36" with diet and exercise and no plastic surgery. Let me also add my favorite quotes

I really thought the tractor picture looked like something you might find in a soft-core porn magazine purchased at a feed store. The sort of thing that appeals sexually to a small, select group of people you’d never, ever want to come into contact with.
It’s good to see that I’ve entertained my fellow Dopers this much, even though many others have felt the need to scrub their brains with steel brushes to stop the pain.

Not really. I mean, I can’t prove that it doesn’t help prevent breast cancer, can I? It isn’t like they’ve done randomized controlled trials or anything to disprove it. Given the modern practice of evidence-based medicine–where we don’t really believe that something works until it’s been shown that it does work, no matter how much it ought to work–reasoning like hers makes the baby Hippocrates cry, and she might as well stamp “NUTJOB” on her forehead when it comes to the legit medical community, but she can feed such not-disproven bushwa to the lay public with relative impunity.

I have often theorized that wingnuttery is probably more likely in any given MD than in any given member of the general public. Whenever it’s implied than a person with an MD clearly knows what he’s talking about, I remind myself that I’m an MD, and I frequently don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.

And btw, it’s funny that she mentions that her family has a history of breast cancer-and she blames it on the bra.

Actually, if you mix fat and sugar together and heat to 98.6 F, don’t you just get warm, oily sugar? Caramelization happens at temperatures well in excess of that. [This](http://courses.che.umn.edu/02fscn4345-1f/nonenzymatic_browning.htm) site claims \> 150 F, but my candy thermometer goes quite a bit higher than that.

Y’know it says she graduated **magna cum laude** from Duke in 1975. Hardly last in her class. ('course that’s not the medical part).
Taking that as a starting point, and assuming she was approximately 21 when she graduated that would put her birth year around 1954 making her today about 48 years old. Actually she’s not too bad looking for a nearly 50 year old woman. She’s apparently taken care of herself, tho I do agree with most posters that she uses way too much makeup.
Sleazy tactics or no, quack or no, she’s probably not doing anything different than some who run ‘weight-loss clinics’ and make out on the proceeds of their ‘diets’, or those in the liposuction business or offering various other ‘enhancements’ to be performed on our not so perfect bodies.
Not really defending her, just being realistic.

I got an e-mail back from her. Apparently, she is not planning to admit her own patients to the hospital, but she is trying to make arrangements with some of the hospitalist groups in town to do that for her.
Seems to go against the “personal service” idea that her business model is based on, but what do I know?
