Man, I am so tired of skimming Fark, then coming over here and finding a bunch of the exact same links, dragged over here and cut and pasted from Fark. If you want to discuss a link you read at Fark, there are discussions going on over there. There’s no reason remake this board in Fark’s lame image. And the next time I read “[lame pun on subject matter]-ity ensues” or some other such Fark cliche trotted out in these boards, I swear I’m going on a killing spree. You like Fark so much? Spend more time at Fark. Don’t bring that shit here so that the rest of us don’t have a choice which board we’re reading. ---

I mean, I enjoy Fark too. But the internets ( :rolleyes: ) are big enough for both websites. There’s no reason to try to make both sites the same by doubling up on all the content. ---

I’ve seen a few crossovers, and have been tempted to get the Straight Dope on several stories I’ve seen over there. That’s exactly why there’s a lot of crossover, of course. The SD is more devoted to the facts, while Fark is more devoted to sensationalism. Plus, it’s hard as hell to get any sort of meaningful discussion going over there, what with the “O RLY” and the “Sharp Knees” bits. ---

I know that sooner or later, all the good stuff will get reposted here anyway. Somebody else does the job of separating the wheat from the chaff for me. It’s convenient! ---

I think there are enough lame asses copying each other without leaving these boards to complain about. Like when someone says something that _would_ be funny but then goes the predictable route and hits enter 75 times and then types “:D” or “what?” Besides, I see a lot more links just copied and pasted here from Slashdot. ---

I’ve noticed it too, but so what? I like the links on Fark, but the discussion for the most part is almost non-existant. I’d rather have those stories to read about over here than over there. Would you object the same if the bits were coming off of Digg or some other link centric board? ---

OK, so thats Fark. Nobody would tell me, no linky (as is the custom hereabouts, I hasten to remind…) so I gotta dragass over to Google… Never been before, seems all right for variety of input. Coding system seems kinda “reminiscent” for no particular reason. No beat at all, impossible to dance to… It’ll do. ---
