I never understood why people kept listening to him after he admitted he’d been bullshitting to cover for the Bush Administration last year (?) and was “tired of carrying their water”. He was admitting to being a radio troll! ---

We must give credit where due – Rush blaming the market conditions on a president-elect who has not yet taken office sets a new standard for brazenness. Frankly, I’m in awe. ---

What an idiot. Aside from the conflation of one day’s DOW drop and the rest of the economy, that day happened to coincide with the release of an extremely import, and negative economic indicator: the unemployment report. ---

Thus, there is a downturn _in stock prices_ now because the market foresees a downturn \*in profits \*in the future. Therefore, his argument would be that traders know (or think) that Obama is going to be hurting companies’ chances of turning a profit – by higher taxes, by strengthening unions or what have you – and so respond by selling now. Limbaugh may be wrong in attributing the downturn to Obama, but I don’t think he is wrong in his contention that stock prices are based on predictions of future profitability. ---
