If they’re willing to quit issuing licenses, than I guess that means marriage, however defined, isn’t really very important to them. Kinda gives the lie to all the claims that it’s a “sacred” process. ---

I hope the U.S. district court judge down there who ruled in the earlier SSM case will set a hearing ASAP and require Moore et al. to show cause why they should not be held in contempt of court. ---

And this would not take the state of Alabama out of the “marriage business” in any meaningful way; presumably the state would still need to issue marriage _certificates_ or Alabamans are going to run into a lot of trouble proving they’re married if cross state lines. ---

If the idiots here in Alabama didn’t vote for him, he would have stayed gone the first time he was removed from office. I have no doubt he could get re-elected.
