Well F**K! I Just Killed a Cockroach

One house I lived in back in West Texas, we had a cat who liked to bat at the roaches inside those roach-hotel traps. Hehe, the little bastards were trapped and doomed to dies AND still harassed up to the end. Served 'em right.

I guess you live in a cooler climate. Cockroaches are so prevalent in warmer climates (as alluded to above) that you deal with them. They aren’t any less disgusting, or repulsive, but you will get them as they fly in any unscreened window.

You can buy Baygon nest killers which are quite effective. The cockies take the poison back to the nest and wipes them out. You need to replace them every three months.

A professional bug killer seems over the top for one cockroach. Damn things live in chip bark and anywhere else they can find. (Also there are several varieties of cockroach).

The last place I lived in was quite nice, but had all sorts of gaps under the skirting where bugs could get in. But, aside from standard cobweb spinners, a few wasps, and a fly or three, I rarely saw any.

I did have a couple of Huntsman spiders, but three over four years is no big deal, even if they are creepy buggers. And once, just once, I saw a big shiny cockroach, one of these kind, which was on my bathroom wall. I actually found him rather fascinating as he wasn’t the ugly clickety kind, and then an hour later he was gone again and I never saw another; no action required on my part.
