You really haven’t looked around the animal kingdom much, have you? If you did, you would see ant colonies starting [wars](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL3sHuK3iGE&feature=fvw) with other ants and committing what we would call genocide. You would see ducks [gang-raping](http://www.cracked.com/funny-2938-duck-rape/) other ducks. You would see lions [eating the young](http://en.allexperts.com/q/Wild-Animals-705/Animals-kill-young.htm) of other lions to preserve their own genetic line. It’s tooth and claw out there

Pointless is accepting war as inevitable. It is not pointless to ascribe to something better. We should all hope to be better.
