There are those who beleive that the primary purpose of sex is reproduction. A many of those would reject the idea of asexual reproduction out of hand. The majority, though, engage in sex for purposes of either pleasure or consummating a realtionship, and making babies is either a happy or unhappy extension of that. Being able to reproduce asexually would not in any way affect this aspect of relationships between the sexes. Even is it is possible to create a society in which women don’t _need_ would it mean that women wouldn’t _want_ relationships with men? I suspect that the incidence of lesbianism would be much, much, higher if this were the case. For heterosexuals, there is just something fundamental about the male-female relationship that goes beyond even the sexual aspect. So long as this is true, we’ll still be around. ---

A treasure trail is that little patch of hair that leads from the belly button down into the nether regions. 🙂 Unfortunately for myself, they paved over my magical treasure trail and put in a 14 lane treasure-interstate instead. Thus connecting neck and lower abdomen with a non-stop freeway that is perpetually having road work done. G-d, I hate being hairy. ☹ ---

This somatic cell would have to contain an x-chromosome right? I don’t think it would be possible for two females to make a male. Kinda like adding two positives can never make a negative. Or am I just way off base here? ---
