Found my leak. By-passed it. Will let the hole dry out and fix it later. So, the first thing I did after turning the water back on? Tried to water the lawn. With the disconnected hydrant. :smack: Dumb-ass. ---

My workplace has many doors that auto lock and require the use of a fob to open. Many of us are too lazy to dig through purse or pockets 50 times a day so we hang the fob around our necks. Last night, as I was leaving work, I swiped the fob over my car door lock and wondered why I didn’t hear the lock click. :smack: ---

I’ve also tried to use each remote to open my front door at least once. ---

Pneumonia. The creeping chest crud that has been going around for the past week, that I picked up last Thursday took a week to roll into full on pneumonia. I hate pneumonia, I am permanently exhausted - every time I try to fall asleep, right on the verge of actually sleeping my body decides to wake me up with racking coughs. _sigh_ Right now I am so tired I think I would voluntarily go in for a week of sedation coma. ---

I got an email from an organization calling themselves Fightforreform,org. I’m sure they’re well meaning, but good Lord– The email says that Nevada has just become the 19th state to pass a proposal to overturn the Citizens United decision. “It only takes 38 states to ratify a Constitutional Amendment,” points out the email “-- so we’re halfway towards the support we need to END Citizens United!!” (Double exclamation marks in original.) There are so many things wrong with that statement it’s hard to know where to begin. Let’s see, three things: passing a proposal today does not equate to supporting an amendment down the pike; we’re close to saturation, as most of the remaining states are extremely unlikely to add their voices to the END Citizens United!! choir; we would need a two-thirds majority in both houses of congress to get the ball rolling (good luck with that). Look, overturning Citizens United is on my list of Good Goals. It’s not at the very top of that list, but it’s there. But this kind of thing is intellectually dishonest. IT DOESN’T HELP. And I wish they’d cut it out. ---

Fuckin’ FLEAS man. We got Advantage for the cat and Frontline for the dog a couple days ago, and there’s so much DE powder around the house it looks like that scene in Goodfellas right after whatshername throws the brick of cocaine. So right now the fleas are in that last-ditch desperate attempt to find any non-poisoned warm body. I either feel (and see) them, or think I do. _twitch_ ---

My sympathies. I’m trying to figure out outdoor perimeter defense against fleas, so the cat can use the patio. That’s the only possible source I can think of for fleas I’ve found on her, since the only other animal she has contact with is the bird in the same household. ---
