At least both you and Mrs. Blue Sky are convinced it’s a mistake. Good. What I’m wondering about, though, is how BIL will react to the refusal. If he accepts the rejection and tries to work out something legit with his creditors, then there’s hope. If he tries to claim that you or the Mrs. **owe** him this favor (which is something I’ve seen from many a moocher), then hang up, slam the door, run, whatever, just do not let him whine and browbeat you into this. ---

He fancies himself quite the businessman (:rolleyes:). A few years ago he was accused of stealing money from one of his employers. He says he didn’t do it. I have my doubts. (He’s not good at managing money. His late mother knew this and tied up his inheritance in a trust fund that he won’t be able to touch until he’s 40.) On his lawyer’s advice, he pleaded guilty to the theft charge thinking that, since it was a first offense, he’d get a slap on the wrist. The slap consisted of a nine month stint in the big house. If he wasn’t guilty, why admit to a crime? He is enamored of anything having to do with organized crime. He sent flowers to John Gotti’s funeral, fer cryin’ out loud! This guy is quite the piece of work. He generally doesn’t ask for favors. I do help him with computer issues from time to time. Although he did ask me how to keep records on the computer in such a way that, if the computer were to be searched, no data would be found! And my wife wonders why I don’t trust him! ---

And also very true. In the movies you always see some one histerical getting slapped in the face to calm them down. I wish that a verbal slap in the face to **BIL** would have the same effect. From what **Mr. Blue Sky** has described, I don’t think it will have any effect. He’s already 37 years old, his inheritance is locked in a trust fund, his creditors are snapping at his heals. Don’t be surprized at his reaction when the **Mrs** saying ‘no.’ It’s going to be weird because he’s already prepared. You should be too. He’s going to get his inheritance when he’s 40? Don’t help him hide it from his creditors. This is another really bad idea that you will hear about. From what you’ve descibed, I’m sure of it. Good luck. ---

He is the sort of person who has zero compunctions about imperiling other people’s finances (and frequently, lives) so long as his lazy @ss gets a free ride. Avoid this b@stard like the plague that he is. His is the self-absorbed “high-roller” type and he will be a millstone around the neck of anyone stupid enough to allow him into their life. Consider yourself fortunate to have gotten such a clear indication of this sh!t’s motivational structure when he wanted to fradulently manipulate your wife’s automobile insurance company. There is so much wrong with this person that I can’t even begin to tell you about it.
