Just figured you all might appreciate the explanation why the board is sometimes speedy and sometimes sluggish.

Yep, [capybaras](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capybara) are the world’s largest rodents. It was explained when Jerry ( **jdavis** ) bought the new server that we’d upgraded from hamster-wheel power to capybaras.

(Nobody mentioned they had a taste for homebrewed beer!)

Hey, that was [me](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=388831) who first said they should get capybaras. I’m so glad that Jerry invested in some, after first experimenting with guinea pigs.
