Well, I did try to find a vet to look at the bird. The bird was alive when I called animal control. And, as others have mentioned, a bird just falling out of the sky is a bit concerniing as far as disease goes. Also, if the bird was poisoned letting the dogs have a snack might not be the best idea.

Animal control are the professionals. Since none of the vets would take it I let the pros do their job.
