Things got contentious, and a fistfight broke out that ended with somebody dead and the riot police. It ended with the pro civil rights faction getting kicked out of the conention. ---

Well, since those would be the mythical Muslim Nazis, I’d wonder which alternate universe they came from there the Nazis somehow allied with the Muslims, took over their world and then began invading alternate dimensions. I’d also be really really interested in seeing how that fusion of Islam and Nazi-ism looks like, especially their written philosophy. ---

Well, my entire family is pretty much socially liberal. My uncle is devoutly religious, being the son of a preacher, but he’s no exception. As I’ve said before, my Facebook feed is therefore generally a nice happy bubble of liberalism, progressivism, and socialism, and I kinda like it that way. 🙂 ---

Since my grandfather-in-law died over a decade ago, I have only one uncle-in-law who is only nominally sane and is clearly unreasonable who spouts unsupportable opinions and is stubbornly hateful. The rest of the family, (Left wing and Right wing and apolitical) are pretty much all “healthy, sane and reasonable people, . . . innocent of unsupportable opinions and stubborn biases.” The same is true of my workplace. We have one loud nutter (virulent Fox news aficionado) and one not-very-talkative person with nutter-like opinions. I cringe when I encounter those who are rabid, (Right or Left), but I see more on the SDMB than in real life.
