# Well... The hubcap was a surprise. (Motorcycle)

And it scratched the hell out of my fairing, too.
So there I was, riding on the evening commute, waiting for the road to widen a bit so I could pass some people, when the Silverado in front of me ran over a hubcap. It hit my fairing just above the headlight, knocked down my left mirror, bounced off of my shoulder armor, and then off of my helmet. Lots of nice cratches on the expensive plastic.
And my bike was so pretty. ☹

Just remember, beauty is only skin deep. Underneath the scratches, she’s still as pretty as she ever was.
On a related note (sort of): I saw a Triumph Rocket III in the parking lot at work this evening. Damn, what a bike! 2300 cc straight 3, shaft drive. I bet you have to be careful twisting the throttle from a standing start or that beast will just flip over on you.

I saw a 750cc ‘Rocket 4’ a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know enough about BSAs to know if there really was a Rocket 4, or if the guy just called it that after his mods. It was a mixture of old and new: a classic ride, but with alloy wheels and Öhlens shocks and other neat bits. I want one.

That sucks.
I know a guy who hit some road debris last summer. It was a stupid T-shirt. Jumped up and tangled in his back sprocket and chain. It locked the rear tire and he lost it. Walked away, but the bike was a mess.
