They went and hired Jenny McCarthy. I’m really annoyed that she got a much larger venue to potentially spout all her anti-vaccine crap and with barely anyone else left to argue with her will they even bother to present the other side of that argument? ---

I think it’s giving them a lot of credit to call anything that happens on the view an ‘argument’. ---

I just saw official confirmation. My fellow pro-vaccine advocates and I have been trying to petition the network to do the right thing and find someone with a brain instead. Alas all they’ll do is now is empower the crazies even more. They should add pro-vax celebrities Amanda Peet or J.Lo as balance. Or better yet have Dr. Paul Offit (head of the infectious diseases unit of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a major authority on this subject) on at least once a week to correct her. ---

As has been mentioned they don’t so much discuss or even intelligently argue, they just talk over each other and make bad/inappropriate jokes when they don’t agree. I can see McCarthy fitting in with them, I would just rather that she not be given such a public venue. Being given her own show was bad enough but it didn’t seem to last very long, this is an established show on a major network. ---

I hope that one of the other co-hosts nails her to the wall for the fact that her son probably didn’t have autism in the first place. ---

Well, here’s hoping that the people who already get all their medical advice from watching shows like Oprah and Dr. Oz are the only people dumb enough to listen to Jenny McCarthy. ---

How can Barbara Walters look herself in the mirror? She once had a reputation as a serious journalist who cared about the truth. So sad to see her ending her career making cheap rating seeking sell out decisions such as this one. What a joke she has become. She should have retired before destroying her credibility, would have been nicer for everyone. ---

Although I am not a regular viewer of The View, I used to watch more often when I was awake earlier in the day and not as much of an insomniac. It was mostly something to have on when I was doing other things. Most everyone on the show annoyed me but once in a while they’d have on a celebrity I wanted to see. I wouldn’t say I liked it or was a fan, it was just a habit to have it on. Barbara may have once been good, she may have once been a good journalist but watching her interview people on The View and show just how out of touch she was and how bad she was at it was painful. It’s like watching the crazy homeless lady on the street ramble on about anything and everything and not make any sense. She should have retired years ago and maintained some of the respect she had earned prior to this show. Giving a platform to the younger nutjob, McCarthy, just proves she’s lost it completely. ---
