Everyone seems to have forgotten the bombings, shootings, and endless bomb threats, as well as harassing patrons of abortion clinics that was in the media just a scant few years ago. All perpetrated by christians. And that is exactly why you don’t give into this crap, it has nothing to do with racism or xenophobia or hate, it has to do with not backing down from fundies looking to establish a theocracy. ---

In practice, the difference might not be very much, and Islamic extremists will probably be upset either way - I simply feel that the difference comes in “inciting violence” instead of insulting being the by-product… But maybe I’m drawing a distinction without a difference ---

On the one hand, one has to assume that insulting Muhammad will incite violence, but on the other, depicting Muhammad as violent is “demonizing”?
