Home. Dinner was meh. The salad was good, but the calamari was flavorless and my parmesan tilapia was equally bland. It was served with angel hair pasta that had no sauce. All in all, very meh. But I didn’t have to cook or do dishes, so there’s that. I had to close up the house up and turn on the a/c - it got near 90 here today! Weird weather. Later this week, we’ll get closer to normal, which is lower 60s. And maybe some rain. Which my plants will like. Speaking of which - both the transplanted azaleas are full of buds that are about to open! I’ve got a load of jeans in the washer. That may be all I accomplish today. Wanna make something of it?? 😛 ---

They bloom as early as February and bloom for a REALLY long time (although they cheat because the part that looks like a petal is actually a sepal (the part that’s usually green that holds the flower). Their foliage is nearly evergreen (it lasts through winter and then is replaced with the foliage from the next year’s growth). Wikipedia has a good article as well. Work was…well…_irk_ is a good term, isn’t it? Nothing horrible, just little annoyances. Now I’m home, considering what to do with my evening. Had some leftover chicken and made some smashed potatoes to go with that. Yum. My chives are to the point where I can use them, which is wonderful. Someone remind me to keep some growing next winter. Fresh chives are wonderful. Did anyone hear this [window farming](http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=125504307)story on Sunday? Seems like a really good idea. I’ve got a couple of windows where that would work. Might not fill the window, but it would be nice to have something growing well in the winter. Wow, we’re really quiet tonight. Just came across [this story](http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/30/AR2010033004260.html) from the Washington Post. It has to do with how letters to the President are handled. Fascinating. Really nicely written, too. ---

Dinner has been eaten (leftover pork tenderloin roast, gravy and egg noodles). I was too lazy to do up some veggies. I’m sitting here with a Black Cherry Rum and diet coke. I don’t usually drink during the week, but what the hell. Still fuming about work. I don’t have any choice but to deal with it and get past it, but that doesn’t mean I like it. Sorry your dinner was meh, **FCM.** I should do some laundry and tidying, but screw it. I just want to relax. ---

Oh, and BTW, Nancy wasn’t following procedure or policy when she decided to not allow me to deposit that check and then withdraw the same amount etc. I just wanted to set the record straight. The daffodils I picked earlier are filling the family room with their scent. Lovely. ---

_sigh_ I’ve felt really anti-social lately. I know it’s mostly stress-related. Anyway, made beef and chicken enchiladas tonight to use up meat and tortillas I had, plus spanish rice and refried beans. It was nommy and I have leftovers. =^\_^= Did you know you can do a lot of your grocery shopping at the 99cent store? I got three different kind of teas (kinds I can’t find at the grocery store! why can I not get plain no-fruit-added tea?), strawberries, some canned goods, and some sweets. ---
