I proposed to my girlfriend today, and she said yes! Iโ€™m happy! The rundown: We went to the beach and took our cooler and picnic basket with us. I hid the ring under the bread, and waited a couple hours. After sunbathing for a while, I asked her if she wanted lunch. She agreed that it sounded good, and I told her to get the sandwiches going while I got the drinks out of the cooler. So, she opens the picnic basket and. . . doesnโ€™t take the bread _out_ of it! I had to reach over and move it for her so she would see the ring. After a look of utter disbelief and shock, she started crying (I was braced for that!). I had slyly positioned myself of one knee while getting the drinks out of the cooler, took her hand, and asked her to be my wife. She said yes, but only after trembling for what felt like an eternity. Iโ€™m happy! Yay! ---

She started crying? Maybe she wanted Wonder Bread. ( ๐Ÿ™‚ ) What a great proposal. I give it a 9.8 It would be a perfect ten if there were some inadvertant swearing or the ring was lost in the sand or if a stray dog came up as you proposed and took a dump right next to you. I wish you much happiness and I will only give this peice of advice. Itโ€™s not love, its a competition. Youโ€™ll understand after a decade or so. ---
