Were Nazi soldiers respectful of the rights of those they invaded

Actually, the churh was burned too, not razed.

I had seen a program on the Hitler Channel ("ahh the Luftwaffe- the Washington Generals of World War 2 ":stuck_out_tongue: ) about reprisals in France after their liberation. Basically, there were quite a lot of innocent romances between German soldiers and French women…and the local guys didn’t take kindly to this and publicly humiliated anyone known to be fraternizing with the enemy. It was pretty apalling, their heads were shaved, they were stripped naked and paraded around. Talk about a harsh place to live- first you are under the rule of a Nazi dictator, then labeled as a trator and collaborator when your country is finally freed!

Of course, “Das Reich” was a Waffen-SS division. This doesn’t mean the Wehrmacht was innocent of attrocities, but they can’t be blamed for Tulle and Oradour-sur-Glane.

Ever hear of “Poland”?

Seriously, I thought this was a joke when I read the thread title.
