Your guess on the final bonus, while quite interesting, and not at all wrong, isn’t what I was thinking. So it’s still an open question.
The thing is, with the core shows I asked about, there are dozens more interesting connections. While in idle thought last night, I came up with a bunch more ways to go from A to B.
David Hyde Pearce was in AFV as well, so think what other paths one could come up with there.

Queen whose SO has a son who’s engaged and a conservative (ex-)wife … doesn’t seem that obscure to me.

Makes sense to me.
But Weist didn’t play Williams’ conservative ex-wife. She played Gene Hackman’s (conservative politician) current wife. Williams was never legally married, but he once had sex with a woman, who bore him a son.
