> Regarding the flight attendants (female flight attendants are still referred to in Korea as _/stewardess_), the competition for that job is incredibly intense. University graduates pay to attend stewardess cram schools, paying quite a hefty fee for those cram schools with higher percentages of graduates who make it just into the training phase of an airline’s flight attendant program. [This article](http://www.alamogordonews.com/news/ci_23617437/young-female-and-ambitious-maybe-you-can-be) is pretty informative. With what the applicants have to go through, and training, more training, and even more training after they’re hired, it’s really not a surprise that they’re pretty darn good at their job.

Ok reading the longer thread, I have to wonder: are their flight attendants better trained than their pilots?

Unknown. However, it’s quite unlikely that any of their FAs has an opportunity to botch a landing.

It’s likely that, under these particular circumstances, the flight attendants had more information regarding post-crash danger in the cabin than the pilots, simply because they could see/smell smoke and actually see damage to the airplane.

> It seems to me from the pictures that the tail separated back of the passenger compartment, possibly where the galley was (hence the stewardess dislocation issue). If you’re strapped to a wall that suddenly becomes the front wall of a large chunk of flying debris, then lucky to be alive is an operative expression.

Upon coming to rest, a large upper portion of the aft pressure bulkhead is still attached to the fuselage, but it’s torn and ruptured and at least half of it is gone ([Picture](http://cdn.ph.upi.com/collection/pv/upi/7794/b048b1a0b8df7cd3d5ffd81ed96d7891/Asiana-Airlines-flight-214-crash_1_1.jpg)).

According to the [seatmaps](http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Asiana/Asiana_Boeing_777-200_ER_A.php), the back of the rear galley seems to hug the curve of the aft bulkhead, so it is plausible the rear of the galley would have departed the airframe.
