That’s a double-reverse derail!
I’m on a roll!!!

It’s a shame that \*\*Electric Warrior’s \*\*post didn’t mention that you find out at the end that actually Noah had been dead for the whole movie.

Because then it would have been a double-reverse derail, with a twist.

By your own words, **strugglingChristian** , you were not trying to start a debate:

> [@strugglingChristian](#):

> This is actually a derail identification contest.

You were actually complaining about how certain posters derailed a thread.

Complaints about other posters go to the Pit.

Moderators move threads all the time to the appropriate forum, and it’s not a punishment.

thought I was posting in the ATMB thread and posted here by mistake. Didn’t realize the other thread was locked - had too many open at once.

Sorry.

Yes there were fish on the Ark, and whales, lobsters, jellyfish, etc.

A couple of all the creatures of the sea were trawled up and put
in great big tanks.

Well, for one thing, they left out the part that says “This is a fictional story intended to illustrate a moral lesson, please don’t ever take something so completely and totally absurd literally.”

If they were smarter they would’ve put that at the top of each section.

Given the ship construction know-how of the time – I’m guessing pre Bronze Age – they had the bigger boat.

In Chelm, drowning was the normal method of executing recalcitrant fish.

And if we momentarily ignore the fact that it’s just a legend, a rainfall sufficient to raise the seas to cover the entire land surface of the earth would create brackish mix that would kill off most species of both freshwater and saltwater marine life.

I’ve also heard it claimed that the Flood would create enough heat from the energy of so much water falling so long all over the world that it would cook everything to death.

Fundamentalists typically just answer all the myriad logistical problems of the story with “goddidit” magic. To me, that just raises the question of why God bothered with a flood at all then. If he wanted to disappear the people, then he could have just disappeared the people. And why kill most of the animals? What did they do?

You can take this even further. Since God is supposed to be omniscient, he would have already known people were going to fuck things up on the first try, and he’d have to reboot with a flood, so why couldn’t he have just skipped the first part altogether and simply created Noah’s family and a pair of every animal in the first place? Why not just make the the original boot instead of the reboot?
