When I’m at home, my riding is solidly Liberal. When I’m at school, my riding is solidly NDP. Maybe one day I can move to a riding that might actually have some excitement. ---

About 1/3 of the US is solidly Republican, 1/3 is solidly Democrat, and the last third realizes that neither party really gives a crap about anyone who doesn’t have a dump truck full of cash to throw around. Seriously; President Bush isn’t the only guy who’s approval ratings are in the toilet. I saw numbers yesterday that gave Congressional Republicans and Congressional Democrats approval ratings of 33% and 34%. We know they’re all good-for-nothing crooks, but what can you do? ---

I would get a whole lot more excited about this election if there was a politician I thought had a snowball’s chance of being a good leader. As our selection, we’ve got bad, worse, bad, even worse. I want the Yogic Flyers back. ---

You see, what we need is an actual honest polititian. I’m talking real transparency in action. They may talk the talk, but not one of the twisted sleazy nutjobs in the House of Commons reveals their office budget or expenses. Oh sure, with the recent (past two years) “disclosure” policy, hospitality and travel expenses are available on each ministry website, but they’re utterly and totally bullshit. Anybody with half a brain and an inclination can look at what they claim as expenses, and with a little research on airline and hotel websites see what they’re fleecing us for. I live for the day when a good ATI researcher (paging Ken Rubin) starts going after the actual expense claims and relates them to what’s posted online. In short, they’re all corrupt, we know that, but until I get a fiscally conservative, socially liberal party leader who can bring all their sheep into line, I’ll probably vote Green as the lesser of all evils. Either that or I vote for the person in my riding. I’ve got Whiny McNasty’s brother (useless) as my MP now, but “whistle blower” Cutler is the Conservative candidate, and I really do respect what that man did. ---

Sadly, they are too sensible (the GPC has been courting David Orchard, to no avail). There is hope for the GPC, but not until Harris and his gang of crookes are shown the door. Meantime, I hope all you Green supporters join up and help make the GPC something great; it is the only party that is constitutionally committed to grassroots democracy, so when it gets on track its policy will be written by folks like us.
