I don’t recall that part in Dog Soldiers, but I do remember something very similar in Ginger Snaps. IIRC the plant was wolfbane or part of the same family.

Personally, I’ve never had any problems with chocolate. But during the summer, poison ivy growing along river banks can be a real pain.
In Dog Soldiers, the final wolf was killed with a small silver knife that was on a dead victim (shown in the intro).
