I was close to being a Patrick (missed by one day, as I was born on 16th March).
I was instead named after The King of Rock & Roll, Elvis. Only his middle name, though.
Named after a Hindu goddess, does that count?
Of course I grew up in the States so most people didn’t recognize it.
I was named after Gene Teirney’s character in the movie Laura–my mom saw it and decided if she ever had a girl, that’s what she’d name her.
Get out – I had a girlfriend whose mother did the same thing – I wonder how many Lauras were so named?
That’s the first I’ve heard of any others–but I don’t know a lot of other Lauras.
Back in 1970, my mom had the impression that the name “Lisa” wasn’t very common.
She also wanted to give me her middle name, for MY middle name. Can you see where this is going?
So inadvertently, she gave me the same name as Elvis’s daughter.
GRRRR.
I’ve never been able to decide if it makes me feel better or worse when I find out HOW MANY LISA’S have the middle name MARIE.
Poor Mom - she was trying to be original.
It would be interesting to find out the percentage of Lisas who have Marie as their second name … we could have a club!

Stainz, one of my trans friends took the name “Lisa Marie”. No, I don’t know what she was thinking.
Daniel after Daniel Boone, a family ancestor. When I Google my full name I show up in a list of Daniel Boone decendant’s obituaries that includes my mom, aunt, grandfather, etc. Male babies were rare for several generations and my grandfather, uncle a cousin and I were all named Daniel. I have three sons, but not a Daniel in the bunch. Although it is my first name, it has never been my given name–I’ve always been called by my middle name.
My first middle name is Alice. My second middle name is Cooper.
People at school used to laugh at me because my first middle name is a girl’s name.

I wasn’t, but my sister was named after Shelley Winters , but the funny part is she married a guy named Johnathon Winters so now her name realli is Shelley Winters.
Daniel Boone was my 5th great uncle. What was he to you?
Daoloth not sure, haven’t researched it. It is just part of the family lore.
