They see themselves as viscerally patriotic? That’s a sure sign that they’re not. Patriotism is something you _aspire to_, not something you can jump start into reality by chest-thumping. ---

Since **Yankees 1996 Champs** seems to somehow know what a “segment of white America” believes, surely he can explain and discuss this belief. I mean, from reading the internet I know a segment of America believes the Earth is flat and Neil Armstrong never went to the moon, but I recognize that’s insane and don’t promote those beliefs. ---

Anthems shouldn’t be played in sports, and Brees should not be chased out because of this. ---
