Well, if he gets replaced between testing and lynching we’d have to lynch the sub in that case, since he has the same role.

But the lynch is still during the day, which means that we can string him up just as most people have planned at the moment.
Bad for the potential sub, but neither good or bad for the townsfolk, I guess.

But just to clarify:
november will not be subbed out until after the lynch, right?

Bolding mine, sir–_I_ said if we must no-lynch to improve the odds, we should do it as late-game as possible. You ONLY said today.

As for november’s subbing out, this is the other reason why I hate lynch-the-lurker on day one.

As for Daphne, I don’t think she’s been sowing any more or less dissension than anyone else. It’s day one, after all.

You know what, this seems like a really townie response.

I was going after you because I thought you were newbie scum, trying to get a ‘ball rolling’ on me, as an easy target. But I don’t get that feeling from this post at all. You’re wrong about me being scum, but I’d really like you to say more about why you think I am. I know you’ve said ‘just a feeling’ but I’d love for you to ‘unpack’ what that means.

Just so you know, even though you are trying to get me killed, Seeker, there are no hard feelings. This is a game, and you’re right, we should all be playing here!

**untest Seeker of Truth and Beauty
unvote Seeker of Truth and Beauty**

I’ve been talking a lot not to ‘sow dissension’ (which I don’t really see any of, actually), but to try to generate a Day One which will be of some use later on, by getting interactions on board. I’d really like everyone to be clear about why they are doing what they are doing. Having to explain motivations is really tricky for scum, because then they have to lie outright , rather than obfuscate, or tell half-truths. That’s much harder to do convincingly.

I will admit to being ‘reactive’ but I don’t understand what the alternative is – not respond to a poorly-reasoned vote against me? I have been talking about other things as well, so I don’t think I can be claimed to have been ignoring the rest of the game!

Yeah, but that somebody would, for all intents and purposes, be the same person as **november**. If **november** is scum, then whoever replaces him/her will also be scum. If he/she is townie, then the replacement also will be. So even though the person we lynch may have a different name, we will be getting the same results. At least, I really hope so.

No, i said that it could make sense to do it on a later day instead. see posts 168 and 176.

I still think today makes more sense. We’d be doing more intelligent lynching on Day 2, and it’s possible that the test results would be identical (which would strike me as a reason to spare the tested).

**Daphne,** it’s primarily that you’ve been trying to point the finger anywhere but at yourself; since no one is doing that at near the volume you are, it registers a bit more (with me, at least; likely that’s other players’ reasoning as well). Let’s face it, you’re the highest-volume poster in this thread (not counting the mod). Granted, I’m in third place, but [thankfully!] my posts have a different tenor than yours do. Two questions, mod:

I’m not entirely sure myself. As I said, I’m a noob to these kinds of games. Given how quick off the mark some people were about lynching others, though, I’m reluctant to say anything that might be seen as implicating another player before I’m pretty firmly convinced myself that that player merits suspicion. I’m just a humble farmer and would prefer to see us all get through this with a minimum of bloodshed. Unrealistic, I suppose, but there it is.

As I understand it, the _amount_ of shed blood is more or less constant. One lynching per week, and one night-kill per week. I don’t think there’s an option for more.

(Unless you meant that figuratively, in which case I’m being dense and pedantic and ought to shut it. Now.)

Interesting. Do you really want to reveal your side this early on in the game? Unless you’re scum pretending to be a farmer. So far I don’t think anyone has given away whether they’re rancher or farmer. And I’d think it wouldn’t make sense to say what you are because then you make yourself a victim to the opposite side.

So far I don’t think anyone has given away whether they’re rancher or farmer. And I’d think it wouldn’t make sense to say what you are because then you make yourself a victim to the opposite side.

Please tell me if my logic is faulty:

If **Elendil** really is a farmer, it doesn’t necessarily make him a victim to the werewolves, as they _already_ know that he isn’t a werewolf, and therefore must be either a Rancher or Farmer. This early, the distinction may not be helpful; I could see later in the game where it may help for a Werewolf to know specifically which a player is (i.e., Rancher or farmer).

On a different tack, if I were a werewolf, I would be thinking that **Elendil** would be an obvious kill, yet what would making that obvious kill do to benefit things from the townies view? Nothing, that I can see.

It’s as though we have A, B, & C; we don’t publicly know what A & B are but we do publicly know that C is a Farmer. If A or B is killed by the wolves, then we (public alive people) know that A or B was a townie (or rarely, I think, a werewolf. I don’t see why a werewolf would kill their own, but it’s possible, I suppose.) If C were killed, then we have no new info. Still, I can’t see this position being used to any advantage by the werewolves.

On a semi-related note, I find I’m really uncomfortable using the word ‘scum.’ I hope y’all don’t mind if I don’t.

Well, I didn’t mean that it might make **Elendil** a victim to the werewolves. I meant it might make him a victim to a rancher if he’s a farmer (or vice versa).

Also, could you respond to this post that I made above, about **november** being subbed out? I wasn’t sure if what I said made sense, and I wanted to make sure that we were all on the same page.

On the editing question: it allows for sleight of hand and confusion. Because some people may see the original, while most will not, the editor can fix a scum slip, or impart information he should have to impart publicly. Plus I can’t track it if it’s edited.
NO. NO PMING OTHER PLAYERS WITH GAME INFO. Please, please tell me that’s a rhetorical question.

Okay, the edit reasoning makes sense. I figured it was along those lines.

I’ll tell you it was rhetorical if it makes you feel better, but remember, I’m brand-new here.

In the interest of Full Disclosure – I did PM a player telling them how to find the number of player’s posts for the thread. I just felt I didn’t want to broadcast my knowledge, so I only told the person that asked. A couple of posts later, however, someone elsse posted it in-thread. It was probably a stupid thing to do; I haven’t made any other PMs, and I promise not to in the future. I’m sorry.

If this disqualifies me, I hope I can play next time. Truly, it was a mistake borne of innocence. Again, I’m sorry. I can PM to you, **pedescribe,** the content of my PM and the response I got, if you need.
