West Memphis 3 getting released?

Hey!

Doesn’t that make him Catholic? As for Jesse, his IQ is in the 70s IIRC. He was totally coerced into his confession. Why is it so difficult to believe that he then ‘stuck’ to the story he was told?

Share, please…besides Alaska, that is!

It’s not difficult to believe. My point is that this is not entirely a black and white case. There are sections of his confession where he states information that proved true. For example, he spoke about a bottle of whiskey that he broke in a certain location after the murders. Police went to the spot and found the broken bottle with the same brand label Jessie said. Sure, this doesn’t prove anything. But it makes you wonder if he was at least there. Read his confessions. In my opinion, he very much was coerced into saying certain things. But he also says quite a bit on his own.

I feel that anyone who says they are 100% guilty or 100% innocent is not very familiar with all the details here.

One, that to get set free they have to confess to murder, and two, they can never sue the state that falsely imprisoned them for half of their lives. And three, they can’t sue Alaska either.

They’re free!!!

It was just announced all three pled guilty and are being released. Fucked up ending…

Live feed.

They’re not confessing to murder. They’re agreeing that the state probably had enough evidence to try and convict them. It sucks and their shouldn’t be any conditions, but since they were already convicted and this gets them out, it’s not that big a deal.

It’s a huge deal because the case is now closed. No further investigation will ever take place. There will never be closure for the victims’ families now.

I’m originally from Shreveport, LA, which is not very far from Arkansas. I know from retarded hillbillies. I’m related to some.

MSNBC is now reporting that the judge has accepted the Three’s plea agreements.

At least everybody knows they’re innocent. Hopefully they can make some money from book and movie deals, unless the state tries to fuck them out of that too.

The prosecutors should really have to take their places in jail.

Having been through a similar tragedy myself, I can honestly say that a definitive need for “closure” is overrated. It sucks for the victims’ families that they may never have any official determination of what actually happened to their children, but, for most people, that stops mattering at some point and they move on with their lives.

I hope they leave my state and get far, far away.
These men are very dangerous. I don’t want them anywhere near my family or friends.

I doubt there would have been any further investigation anyway. I imagine it’s hard to get resolve and prosecute a case this old and I don’t think the police and prosecutors like drawing more attention to their own failures and misconduct. I wonder how often cases like these result in a second conviction of someone else.

Well there is evidence Terry Hobbs could have been involved.

Cite?

I agree.

He is a nasty looking little bastard.

I’ve read that, yes. It sounds like one of his hairs was found in one of boys’ bindings, and there was hair on a tree stump near the crime scene might’ve belonged to a friend of Hobbs’. That’s evidence, but given that this is a 20-year-old case that three people where three people were already convicted, it might be hard to get enough evidence to convict the guy and convince a jury even if he did it (which I can believe).
