That’s a wonderful idea. I told my husband about it and he thinks you’re a pure genius, except he thinks they should be novellas rather than full-length novels. In a neat boxed set.
I like the idea. Alas, I don’t know any of the writers you mention, so I’ll toss one of my favorites at you: Carol O’Connell. I’d nominate Barbara Michaels, too, but she died recently.

Hah, I KNEW “Barbara Michaels” sounded vaguely familiar. It’s Elizabeth Peters! She came to Egypt once while I was living there and gave a reading or something … sadly I had an unbreakable prior engagement and did not get to attend. But Elizabeth Peters is a great comic writer. I assume her non-comic novels are written under the Michaels pseudonym. I’ll give it a try.
