Sharkey offering Buffy a part-time job in “Tabula Rasa” From “Prophecy Girl” “You have fruit punch mouth” The scene in “The Body” where Spike tries to bring flowers for Joyce, and Xander cruelly rebuffs him. The bit in “Fool for Love”, at the end just before the “You’re beneath me” reprise, when Spike is trying to kiss Buffy, and she thinks he’s trying to bite her. Don’t think I caught on to that until the third time I saw the ep. The part at the beginning of “Hush”, where Giles is telling Xander, “I need you to take Spike for a few days. I have a friend coming to visit.” Anya:'An orgasm friend? Giles: “Yes, thank you, that’s the most apalling thing you could hae said.” Actually, I like all the scenes with Olivia in them. Spike:" I don’t see why I have to be tied up." Xander: “It’s just while I’m asleep.” Spike: “Right, like I’d bite you anyway.” Xander: "I’ll have you know I’m very bite-able. Spike: “Oh, yeah, right, you’re a nummy treat.” Xander: “And don’t you forget it, pal. I’m moist and delicious.” Xander turns out the light. Spike (in his girly voice): “Xand, don’t you care about me?” Xander: “Shut up” Spike: “We never talk” Xander: “Shut up” Spike: “Xander… Xander” The second S5 ep, when Giles finally decided to buy the Magic Box, and he’s talking about square footage, and training space for Buffy in the back and Buffy says, “You’ve really put a lot of thought into this. How bored were you last year?” Giles: “I watched ‘Passions’ with Spike. Let us never speak of it.” The bit in “Restless” during Willow’s dream, when Harmony goes gameface and is trying to bite Giles. “That’s very annoying… Stop that.” From “Get it Done” Wood: “Nice coat, where’d you get it?” Spike: “New York”, then of course, after he kills the demon “I don’t know what your feelings are, mate” strikes a match on the demon’s dorsal ridge “but for me a tussle like that” as he lights a cigarette and melts back into his human face “is good for the soul.” ---

The first scene of The Body will always win for me. Second is the end of the Gift, with Giles. Don’t think it was mentioned: third is Buffy’s speech about giving up in Prophecy Girl, that was so sad IMO. Don’t think it was mentioned: fourth is in Nightmares when Buffy is the vamp and she mentions there are worse things than that monster. Ever since that ep I have wanted Buffy to be a vamp with a soul. Don’t think it was mentioned: the laugh Giles and Buffy share over how much their lives turned to absolute shit in season six. 😃 ---

Besides, he’s only speaking in correction of Buffy, not attesting to Willow’s personality. Buffy, OTOH, _does_ know Willow pretty well and rather evidently doesn’t believe that Willow is gay. Lastly, Willow is concerned that she _might_ be gay. OK, possibly she’d caught herself feeling some slight attraction to Buffy - but she was head-over-heels with Oz at the time, so surely she wouldn’t have had anything to be concerned about. ---

Get DVD–VHS is a dead format. That said, you UKers make me absolutely green with envy, since you are not only far ahead of us in Buffy releases, but also in Futurama. In any event, Angel know more about being a vampire than Buffy does, and I believe that scene is a foreshadowing of Tara and Willow’s self-realization. We must agree to disagree. ---

S6 and S7 I’ve been downloading, so I don’t need to pick them up to watch. As to the “being far ahead” - we may be ahead on a lot of shows, but we’re not getting Lexx S4 _at all_. Not ever. ---

So many great moments. My own contribution: Willow dressed as an Eskimo in _Inca Mummy Girl_. Near the end of _Passion_, after Giles goes to kill Angel for murdering Jenny. After Buffy gets them both out of the warehouse she slugs Giles and they both start crying. Two moments from _Innocence_: 1) Cordelia’s response in being told to help pick up the pieces of the Judge: “Our job sucks!”, and 2) Oz pointing down and saying “Uh… arm!” It’s a small thing, but everything Oz did was classic. When Buffy confronted Giles for betraying her in _Helpless_. A very emotional scene. Sarah’s acting was never better than in _Prophecy Girl_ when Buffy overhears that she’s going to die. The scene that follows between Giles, Buffy and Angel. Zander insisting he’s never again going to be anyone’s “butt monkey”. I think this was in the _Dracula_ episode. And if I could include one moment that’s not really part of the show itself, but has stuck in my mind. In the commentary for _Welcome to the Hellmouth_, where Giles leans closely over Buffy on the platform at the Bronze. Joss’ comment: “And here is Giles, clearly violating the six inch rule. That’s very bad, very bad.” Joss Whedon is one of the few people who make their commentary actually worth listening to. ---

Yes, Joss’ commentary is great. I especially like it when he claims that Anthony Steward Head likes to walk around the set pantless and gets angry when he has to do scenes requiring him to wear pants. ---

Xander running into Buffy’s room with Cordelia, in “ **Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered** ” Xander: (leaning out Buffy’s window) We should be safe in here!" Angelus: (Leaning in, grabbing Xander) Works in theory." I love that line. It was stuck in my head for days after that. ---

Again I will limit myself to bits no one else has thought of, with one or two exceptions. These are the ones I thought of while reading this thread: The first time Oz asks, “Who is that girl?” In “Lie to Me” Xander: “I gotta go with Deadboy on this one.” Angel: “Will you stop calling me that…” In “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered”, Giles not believing Xander about the spell…until Jenny starts coming on to him… In “Consequences”, Willow finds out Xander had sex with Faith. The look on her face…later she locks herself in the bathroom and cries. This surprised me, as I thought she was over him, and was one of the things that led me to believe (erroneously, I see now) that those two would finally get together this season. Oz’s thoughts in “Earshot”…“Only Buffy exists.” Snyder speech at the graduation…“This is a time of joy and celebration. So sit down shut up.” Xander mangling a line from Star Wars in an attempt to cheer up Buffy in “The Freshman”. The scene in “The Initiative” in which Spike can’t “perform”. Someone already mentioned it, but I had to repeat it, it is possibly the coolest scene of the entire series. The scene in “Restless” in the back of the ice cream van. Of course ;). In “The Real Me”, Harmony’s note, “Slayer come out and die”, with the i dotted with a smiley face. The end of Tara’s (first) song in OMWF…under your what now? 😉 In “Smashed”, Andrew and Jonathan try to bond with Spike by discussing Dr Who. [geek mode]Andrew’s comment that he’s seen every episode of Dr. Who can’t be true…many of the episodes from the 60s have been lost.[/geek mode]. ---

Buffy, Xander, and Willow doing Oedipus Rex after the puppet episode. Not from Buffy, but deserves mentioning: Angel and Wesley’s dancing in _Expecting_, from the first season of _Angel_. The Thanksgiving debate between Willow, Giles, and Spike. “I’m sick of being the guy who gets the “funny” syphilis!” “The only thing we have in common is we both like your penis!” Oz’s thoughts when Buffy can read minds. Actually, every thing Oz ever said or did. Why can’t we get an Oz spin-off? The Death Star van. I could go on all night… ---

SKY have rights that guarantee them UK premiere including video, but the first VHS box of a season has traditionally come out very soon after the 11th ep of the season has aired on SKY. SKY are at 7X06 right now, which means 6-8 weeks hence is a likely date for Buffy 7.1 unless they decide to release S7 simultaneously on VHS and DVD. ---

A nice, but atypical, example of the series’ sharkbait humor: “Wanna see my impersonation of Gandhi?” Buffy, on the prospect of an all-girl school: “Kilts _and_ no boys! How about a little foot-binding while we’re at it?” Joyce: “You’ve made some bad decisions and there are going to be some consequences.” I always like the indications that Joyce isn’t all about denial. And the best, Xander’s speech at the beginning of Season 4: “Sometimes late at night when I was alone and afraid, I’d ask myself ‘What would Buffy do?’ 'Cause you are my hero! And other times, when it was late and I was alone, I’d woner 'What is Buffy _wearing?_” ---
