# Whaaaa?  Skeptical shows on UFOs on the Discovery Channel?! Huzzah!

There was a nice pair of skeptical programs on Discovery Channel today.

[Unraveling Mysteries of Alien Abductions](http://dsc.discovery.com/schedule/episode.jsp?episode=0&cpi=23200&gid=0&channel=DSC) was mostly about sleep paralysis, and how it relates to alien abduction.

[Roswell](http://dsc.discovery.com/schedule/episode.jsp?episode=7&cpi=24499&gid=0&channel=DSC) is a nice skpetical take on Roswell, including some excellent experiments. For example, some people on a nature hike were given helmets with cameras that record everything they saw. In the middle of the hike they were hustled past a fake crash site with very little explanation, other than that it was some kind of military crash that occurred on the property and they weren’t supposed to hang around. Then a month later they interviewed the people on the hike, and the details that they manufactured under suggestive questioning were fascinating.

They’re followed by a program called [Area 51.](http://dsc.discovery.com/schedule/episode.jsp?episode=10&cpi=24576&gid=0&channel=DSC) More of the same? Unfortunately, I have to take off and go to the grocery store, so I’ll let fellow Dopers investigate.
