I’m wondering how far back my list goes because I purchased Pompaloose’s Tribute To Famous People and the single If You Think You Need Some Lovin’ which has been on continuous replay for about a month and none of those songs are showing up on my top 25. ---

1. "Panama " by Van Halen 2. “You Wreck Me” by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers 3. “Girls Got Rhythm” by AC/DC 4. “Reilly’s Daughter” by the Clancy Brothers 5. “April, Come She Will” by Simon & Garfunkel Now I DO love all these songs, but does this mean these are my 5 favorites, among all the songs on my iPod? No- it just means they’re the songs I never skip past when I do a random shuffle. There are songs I like better that I skip sometimes because… well, I listen most often while I’m driving, and I won’t play a 12 minute Yes song or an 8 minute Zeppelin song if I know I’ll reach my destination in 5 minutes. ---

My top 5 list is all songs from one album by the Japanese band Ogre You Asshole, probably because I listen to that album on loop when I sleep on planes, etc. I know it so well it’s practically white noise. If we only count those songs as one, it’s a little more interesting… 1. Coin Laundry - Ogre You Asshole (170! times). 2-6 also OYA. 2. Holy Moly - Talib Kweli (85) 3. This Must Be The Place (Naive Melodies) - Arcade Fire cover (84) 4. Organ Donor - DJ Shadow (79) 5. Love is a Wave - Crystal Stilts (74) I have no idea what it was about those songs… it’s not a bad summation of my tastes in music, though. ---

Does the “plays” data get transferred back into itunes from the ipod? Mine seems not to have changed much in the last few years, so I suspect the songs were artificially inflated by being first in a randomized playlist or something. But here goes: 1. Welcome to the Family, Michael Suby, Kyle XY 2. Absolut Unveil, Q Department, Absolut Pears 3. One Thing, Finger Eleven 4. I Want You To Want Me, Lindsay Lohan, A Little More Personal 5. Underneath Your Clothes, Shakira ---

Okay, I knew I liked Coldplay, but not this much! 1. Talk - Coldplay, 228 plays 2. The Ghost of You - My Chemical Romance, 129 plays 3. The Scientist - Coldplay, 114 plays 4. Letting the Cables Sleep - Bush, 112 plays 5. X&Y - Yep, Coldplay, 99 plays In my defense, I like “mood music” while I write, and Coldplay fits my groove in that capacity. Also, I haven’t been able to listen to music as much since I started having babies three years ago, so this doesn’t really reflect my current “likes” very well. But yes, I like Coldplay. I think we did this thread last year, but here we go. 1. The Peanut Butter Conspiracy - Dark On You Now, 31x — I’m willing to bet I’m the only one on earth with that as #1. When my relationship with one of my ex’s was falling apart, I used to listen to that song over and over. 2. The Killers - Change Your Mind, 25x — the best 80s song ever 3. Pearl Jam - Severed Hand & Marker in the Sand, 24x – two separate tracks, but they’re back to back on Avocado, and both kick ass. 4. Pearl Jam - Hail Hail, 19x – another PJ song. You can’t help but dance with joy when you hear it 5. They Might Be Giants - With the Dark, 18x – one of the craziest TMBG songs ever. I was in awe when I first heard this song, there’s so much going on in it that I notice something new every time. ---
