# What a DUMB question

Why is he acting like juvenile delinquency is unprecedented? The very term for it is archaic, (more than 20 years…40 years old, at least), that should answer his question right there.

Older than that even. I remember sitting around my friend’s backyard in 1962, talking about this kid or that who had a JD card. Rebel Without a Cause was made in the early '50s. I suspect most of those kids got crap jobs, got married, and are retired today.

**Evil One** does sound like he needs his Geritol a leeeetle bit. (“These damned kids…!”)

But, to his credit, “thug” has been pretty contemporaneous in hip-hop/gangsta rap slang for at least seven years now. [3.8 million Google hits for “thug lyrics” can’t be wrong.](http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&c2coff=1&rls=GGLG%2CGGLG%3A2005-34%2CGGLG%3Aen&q=thug+lyrics)

Comic book SLUT, thank you. Hmf.
As for teaching… yeah, I’m out… but I can’t seem to get away from it. Shit’s in my blood, I guess. What was supposed to be a career change looks more like a de facto sabbatical. I’ll probably be teaching again next school year in a charter school or homeschooling capacity.
