My full name was used for a character on a show that ran for six seasons and was very popular. It wasn’t a coincidence, though the character wasn’t named after me. He was named after my cousin of the same name. I didn’t know about it until I was watching the show and heard my name. I asked my cousin if he had ever watched and he told me the story, which is that one of the writers on the show was a student of my uncle. It’s not clear why he chose to use my cousin’s name instead of my uncle’s. ---
