When the fourth Harry Potter book comes out, I’m going to be standing in line at Borders. Partly because I want to get my copy as soon as humanly possible; manny people I know will be reading it too, and I want to be able to join in the discussions. But partly because I know that the demand will be such that if one doesn’t get a copy from hte first shipment, one would probably have to wait weeks for the second printing. So I’ll be standing in line for…as long as I think is reasonable. I’m an adult, so I can leave and come back of my own free will! But I’ll enjoy meeting so many other HP fans at one time! BTW, I went to Borders today to check that my name really was on the list. Good thing I did, too, **because it wasn’t**! The waste of space who initially took my order didn’t enter it in the database! I was still able to make a reservation, but now I’m way down on the list. If I have to take a raincheck because of that gum-chewing, N’Sync listening, I’m-illiterate-but-I-can-press-buttons-and-put-stuff-in-bags dipwad\*, I will wrap those ponytails of hers in duct tape. \*I should post this in the Pit, or maybe I did, but FTR, I’m not hurling those insults blindly. First, she didn’t know where the order forms were **when they were right in front of her**. Then, as I was filling mine out, she said, "So who is Harry Potter? What else did **he write**? And now this. Grrr. Meanwhile, Borders **rejected my** application! You’d think they’d make the connection that a loyal customer would be a qualified employee! Last word: The more competent clerk who took my order for real said, when I wished her luck dealing with the crowd, that the store would be providing free juice and cookies to the waitees. Good move; with such a high kid-to-adult ratio, you want to cut crabbiness off at the pass. Jeez, that was a ramble!
