I can’t believe no one’s said it yet: \*\*Hugo Weaving \*\* is, and will always be, Agent Smith. Watching the LOTR movies was VERY unsettling for me: “Why is Agent Smith wearing those ears? Why isn’t everyone scared of him? Where’s his earpiece?” And perhaps _V for Vendetta_ had its other flaws, but someone told me Weaving was playing “V”, and I couldn’t think of anything else for the whole film… “When’s he gonna say ‘MISter Anderson’?” ---

**Nathon Fillion** will always be _Captain Malcolm Reynolds_. I watched him in _Waitress_, and it was a good film and he was good in it. But every time his doctor’s coat moved, I expected to see the pistol holster strapped to his leg. ---

With regard to Nathan Fillion, I’ve been waiting for a chance to watch Saving Private Ryan again just to see “James Frederick Ryan, _Serenity Valley_.” Still, as compelling as the characters on Firefly were, Adam Baldwin will always be Major Mitchell from Area 51. “What yer father did was real brave, son. You should be ruttin’ proud of him.” Also, like **River Hippie** said, Willem Dafoe will always be Sgt. Elias for me, just as John Berenger is forever Sgt. Barnes. And the Walter Sobchak role completely washed any trace of Dan Conner off of John Goodman for me. ---

Last night I saw the 2005 remake of _King Kong_. It was hard to take Jack Black seriously as a troubled filmmaker. I kept expecting him to say something really snobby or obscure about music after having seen the movies _High Fidelity_ and _School of Rock_ so many times. ---
