Sean Penn will always be Spiccoli. Gary Oldman will always be Sid Vicious, which makes the Harry Potter films interesting. Speaking of Harry Potter, it’ll be a loooong time, if ever, before I can see the main three as anyone other than Harry, Ron, or Hermione. Alan Rickman used to always be Hans Gruber, but now he seems to always be Severus Snape. Ed O’Neill will always be Al Bundy. And Bud will always be Bud. But Samantha Who? has proven Christina Applegate won’t always be Kelly. And I tend to associate Katey Segal as Leela from Futurama, not Peggy. ---

Speaking of Sigourney Weaver, other cast members from _Aliens_ have left a lasting impressions on me. Paul Reiser will always be a backstabbing weasel, and Bill Paxton will always say “GAME OVER!” Jenette Goldstein however, will never be Velasquez again because I wouldn’t be able to identify her. She’s a shapeshifter. Gene Hackman will always be a heel. Tom Cruise will always be a spoiled brat like he was in _Rain Main_. Sean Connery will always be Sean Connery, even when he’s not playing him. ---

To me LeVar Burton will always be LeVar Burton from Reading Rainbow. I loved that show as a kid. ---

Alan Alda will always be Hawkeye. Linda Hamilton will always be Sarah Connor (I think the Governator goes without saying). Jennifer Coolidge will always be Stifler’s mom (I had to look up her name, but I know I’ve seen her in a half-dozen other movies). Dan Castellaneta will always be Homer Simpson. ---

Basil Rathbone will always be Sherlock Holmes. Jeremy Brett will always be Freddie Eynsford-Hill. Not really; he’s Sherlock, too. Patrick Stewart will always be Sejanus, John Hurt will always be Caligula, and Derek Jacobi will always be Claudius. Dick York will always be Darren Stevens (so it came as a huge jolt to see him as Scopes on Nova).
