Until 1985, the Rath Packing Company was one of America’s largest pork processors, but that’s the year they went out of business. Until then, you could bone out a beautiful Rath pork shoulder, split the humerus, and make an unforgettable Basil Rath-bone Soup.

You can still make it today, but the name won’t be as cool.
