What Animals Are Used by the Army?

Mouth-to-mouth? That’s what BVMs are for!!! I’ve intubated dozens of goats, but never once touched their mouths with mine. With Orf and god knows what other diseases they carry, who would dare such a thing.

There are pleanty of reasons to feel sorry for SF Medics (DRE, NG tube etc)… goat kissing isn’t one I’ve ever heard of.

Oh, Gawd…you had to remind me of the NG tubes.
I was one of the guys who had to clean the classroom after that particular exercise. The sound of fifteen guys retchin’ and heavin’ haunted my dreams for a long, long time.

Fifteen Guys??? Egads, are you an 18D from way back? How long ago was that? Recent classes are topping out at 100 per.

Goes without saying that NG tubes are done outside…

Oh… and how did I forget to mention Foleys??? One tries hard to forget such things. I guess it worked until now…

Nope, I was a 91D assigned to the Academy of Health Sciences. I worked with the SF branch for a couple of years in the late 70’s. The classes averaged about 30, with one half inserting the tubes, and the other half ralphing. I was one of four leg troops working there.

Hee-hee-hee!

I read that book very recently (last spring, I think). It was a very interesting and humorous account of the bat-bomb project.

Unless , of course, you belong to PETA.

I don’t.

P.S.: I see by the way I went directly to the “reply to thread” page that I am now a subscribed member. Yee-haa! My first “not waiting for the (scheduled) sword of Damocles to descend” post! Thanks, Tentacle Monster!
