I’m thinking things like SXSW, Burning Man, Coachella, San Diego Comic-con. What other annual events am I missing if I want to stay edgy and hip? ---

Those are all played out. The real hipsters are going on Disney cruises, attending timeshare conventions, and ironically joining ISIS. ---

Good luck staying edgy and hip! Another decade or so, and you’ll be wearing your pants with the belt around your chest, eating supper at 4:30 p.m., and grousing about “these kids today…” IOW, time’ll take its course. Practice in the mirror saying, “And get off my lawn!” ---

The National Polka festival is _the_ big event for edgy hipsters this year: [http://www.nationalpolkafestival.com/polkamusic.html](http://www.nationalpolkafestival.com/polkamusic.html) Whatever you do, stay far away from any event in Austin, Portland, OR or NYC (especially Brooklyn). Those places are finished and completely dead to the smart set now. Think more Cincinnati, Albuquerque or **Portland, Maine**. ---
