# What are noseblock? Any remedy?

As I sniff and sneeze I am now typing a question about nose-block. Why do we have nose-block, and the especially nose-block on just one side of the nose? (especially whe we sleep?) What good are them? And lastly, any effective home remedies about them. I usually plug a tissue into the unblocked nose and sneeze…

Well, you can try inhaling salt-water - that works for some people.

Personally, because I hate the feeling of water in my nose, I just use Otrivin. Works like a charm.

Drugstores sell saline nasal sprays. You get the same effect as snorting salt water, but it’s not as messy, and you can carry it in your pocket.

Pseudoephedrine pills (such as Sudafed[tm]) will probably do fine if the spray won’t. Stay away from nasal sprays with drugs in them. They work, but you get into a relief/backlash cycle that’s hard to break.
