# What are some free internet personals sites

Inspired by [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=263505) I realize i should at least give the internet a try in regards to meeting women. I can do a street pickup but they have about a 90% failure rate, and even of those 10% who say yes, chances are most will not lead to anything other than one date. Not a very dignified trade off IMO. Soooo, i think the internet is a better option.

However i’m cheap, and don’t want to spend $20 on [match.com](http://match.com). Does anyone know of any free sites? By free i mean

1. you can put a profile up free
2. You can send messages free
3. You can recieve messages free

The only site i’ve found that allows this is [matchdoctor.com](http://matchdoctor.com). Its a reasonable site with maybe 40 women of my age bracket within a 25 mile radius of me. Are there any other sites that allow you to do this for free? I know alot let you put up a profile free but if you want to send & recieve messages you have to pay, and i dont want to do that.
