I read [lifehacker](http://lifehacker.com/) religiously. [Best Article Every Day](http://www.bspcn.com/) is also pretty good. Any others out there? ---

[Schuyler’s Monster](http://www.schuylersmonsterblog.com/) which I found through this Board years ago. The last couple of posts have been pedestrian, as happens in any life. If you read through, it is the evolving tale of a man coming to terms with the fact that his beloved child has an incurable disorder. It is not squeamish or mawky, but an honest exploration of his reactions to the setbacks and triumphs. And the odd thing, given the subject, is that it is uplifting. Possibly because the author is determined to give his child tools to cope, and raise her to be resilient, so cotton-wool is out. Also [SmellyBlog](http://ayalasmellyblog.blogspot.com/) 'cos I love perfumes and their technicalities. Good links into the perfume blogsphere from this one too. ---

[Boing Boing](http://boingboing.net/) is the best general-interest blog I read. It’s very artistic and only mildly techy. [WFMU’s Beware of the Blog](http://blog.wfmu.org/) is a great music-centric blog and a wonderful place to download MP3s. [Dark Roasted Blend](http://www.darkroastedblend.com/) is a wonderful image-centric blog. (Be warned that it frequently has huge pages that inline many huge, high-resolution images. It is also addictive.) [Failblog](http://failblog.org/) usually wins. It’s my little dose of schadenfreude. I also keep up with [Reddit](http://www.reddit.com/), but that’s more of an aggregator than a blog in its own right. ---

> [@Lakai](#): > > I read [lifehacker](http://lifehacker.com/) religiously. [Best Article Every Day](http://www.bspcn.com/) is also pretty good. > > Any others out there? +1 on boingboing. Here’s my list: - boingboing (read via RSS) - Dave Barry’s blog is wild and wonderful fluffy humor. - [kottke.org](http://kottke.org) (a bit highbrow) - The Dilbert Blog (offbeat, thought-provoking) - Shorpy (wonderful old-time photos) - Beyond the Beyond (Bruce Sterling’s blog on Wired, sometimes self- important but also entertaining and informative) I also read these via RSS - Gizmodo - Boingboing gadgets - Lifehackerr - Make - Roger Ebert RSS is a good way to get blogs without being hammered by the ads and associated junk. Since I’m in the tech industry, I get Slashdot via e-mail.
