# What are some good ways to promote a web site?

I just put together a site for my shop and I’m looking for a way to reach 18 to 24 year olds in the D/FW Texas aera. Anybody have any thoughts?

I’m interested in ideas too. I’ve considered license plate frames, but you have to order like 200 at a time and I don’t want to be stuck with more than I can use. No one really uses bumperstickers that much any more (they do, but not like in their heyday.)
For a tattoo/piercing shop maybe you can see if any local skateboard or motorcycle shops have a bulletin board where you can put up some business cards? Or maybe see if you can do a cross promotion where they put up a big sign of yours if you put up a big sign of theirs. Record shops might be an idea too, or a place like Spencer Gifts that attracts a young-ish crowd.

Some web companies just print stickers and put them everywhere. I’m not sure how effective that is, but it’s drawn my attention to a few interesting sites over the past year.

Everytime I go to one that’s remotely heavy, there are guys giving away stickers and flyers for the local tattoo shops.

Thanks for the info, all good ideas. I know that half the money I spend to advertize is wasted. I just wish I coild find out which half!
