What are some of the little known NYC tourist/cultural bargains?

I always thought it was prett cool the the I’msofuckinghip New York Press gave their Best Museum award to the stodgy old Met.

That was years ago (when I was working there actually…and got free passes to all the museums in NY…that was cool). But they point out that it’s undenialbly incredible and more or less free (it IS free…but we apperciate your donations!)

But it’s still incredible, and I didn’t get enough of it even after working there.

And it’s right by the park which as has been pointed out is free…and people watching is free and definatly a high point of being in NYC.

Chelsea Market 75 9th Ave

An old factory that now has on the ground floor several great food places and other attractions.
It also has a bit of interesting history. That building is where the Oreo cookie was invented.
