IRC, it was used in a forgettable movie version of Terry Southern’s book, Magic Christian, a scathing and very funny indictment of greed. _Santa baby…_–can’t remember enough of the lyrics; oldies novelty Christmas tune, where a purring vixen tries to seduce Santa for a few gifts, like a limo, diamonds, etc. _Brother, can you spare a dime_–anthem of the Depression. _Puttin’ on the Ritz_–just try not envisioning Gene Wilder and the Monster “man about town!” though. Sorry, my brain is farina right now. Some apt stuff is stirring around–blues numbers, the Shaker (?) hymn “Simple Gifts”, etc.–but my fugue state won’t permit dredging them up. Veb ---

hmm…oh i don’t know…how about Head Like a Whole-NIN. He sure does say “God Money” in that song a lot…and it does have a motivational/angry/nihilistic sound to it…it’s a winna! ---

I’ve got a copy of that on a very rare EP which also has ‘I want to be evil’ on it. I love it but I only rarely play it so as not to become jaded with over familiarity. ---
