I don’t have any answers to the OP because I don’t speak any other languages, but I just wanted to say that the whole matter of languages is endlessly fascinating to me, not least because from what little bits I’ve learned about other languages, as well as the great deal I know about English, language has a everything in the world to do with how one thinks, not just how one expresses the thoughts. And that, for me, has been a big issue with any attempts I’ve ever made to learn any other languages.
I wish very much that I had learned at least one other language when I was a child, preferably two or three, because I think it has an enormous impact on one’s ability to really understand other people generally, as well as specifically, because it expands how your mind works.
