My folks took my brother and me to the drive in when I was probably 4, and it was a double feature, with Dirty Harry as the “grown up” film, presumably shown after the kiddies fall asleep in the back seat.
Scarred for life!
I remember watching the opening scene where the killer shot a woman in a swimming pool on the top of a building.
My mom should never have taken us to a film like that!
Yeah, but it was the drive-in movie. As I recall, they weren’t too scrupulous about checking IDs. I still remember, at about age 10 or so, seeing Vanishing Point as the B-picture (which was the first movie that night), complete with totally nude girl on a motorcycle, followed some time later, by the protagonist dying in a fiery explosion.
I don’t remember what the A-picture was that night, but I sure liked the B-pictures!
