I love the first comment - and it fits well into this manliest discussion:

Maybe not the manliest bit ever, but it certainly illustrates the male mind - or at least the teenage mail mind. From Zits (the comic strip):

**Jeremy** : “Hector hit me in the head with a rock!”
**Jeremy’s Mom** : “Goodness! What were you doing?”
**Jeremy** : “Throwing rocks at each other.”

speaking of Shane, the scene where Shane and the farmer work on getting the big stump out of the ground seemed to an exhibition of manliness. I think it made the farmer’s wife horny.

It’s perfectly clear at the start of the movie that is what is going on. Spade dumps the new widow right away because it will make them look guilty, but it was just a fling with him anyway.

Which is the same scene I linked to back in Post #7. 😛

I _would_ like one of those Martini Henrys for my collection.

Excuse me while I wipe away this tear.

That is, indeed, a very manly moment. I’m a teacher and I am definitely finding a way to use that clip in class in the future. Thank you for that.

This thread is proving to be pretty in depth at this point. Color me impressed.

IIRC, Ebert’s review of the movie opined that if our hero had then gone for the jugular with that palmed arrowhead – and, okay, gotten sliced to ribbons a moment after getting the kill, but you can’t have everything – the film would’ve been twice as good.
