We didn’t repeat the first line as the third line when we sang it as shown at this site, we sang: “french fried eye balls floating in a bowl of blood” instead. We also did the second line a little different: “chopped up monkey meat, multilated birdie feet” ---

French-fried eyeballs rollin’ down the dirty street - That’s how the polar bear (??) died! (Without a spoon!) “Without a spoon” is sung to the same tune as the “…and many more!” at the end of “Happy Birthday”. ---

Some of the things we sang in the schoolyard in elementary school would probably get us suspended or thrown out in this age of Political Correctness. I never knew the “gopher guts” song, but there were other dreadfuls. “Comet! It makes your teeth turn green!..” “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school…” And, my personal favorite: “Tra-la-la boom de ay We have no school today. Our teacher passed away We shot him yesterday. We threw him in the bay He scared the sharks away Tra-la-la boom de ay We have no school today!” ---

All these things are very, very good to eat, But I forgot my spoon. They gave me chopsticks. And indigestion. Ugh! ---
